Meet the Founder
Hi! My name is Matt. I took my MCAT in 2022, and scored a 519 (129/131/129/130). I went on to complete the rest of my prerequisites for medical school and graduate in May 2023 with a degree in Biology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
During my own MCAT preparation and beyond, I assisted fellow students at my college with their MCAT prep, conducting meetings to discuss their goals, commitments, and expectations for their study period. Through this experience, I discovered a deep passion for guiding students through the complex and often overwhelming process of MCAT preparation. What began as informal support for those in my immediate circle gradually evolved into the foundation of this business.
I enjoy planning because I can feel see the stress leaving the minds of my students as they realize that their goal is achievable. There's a ton of pressure on pre-meds to succeed in their MCAT journey and helping to make the road to MCAT success even a little bit easier is what keeps me so invested in my students and their stories.
What is ?
Over the years, I've considered several names for this business, ultimately choosing "CIBA" after a long search for something that resonated with me both personally and professionally.
"Ciba" is the Taíno word for "rock" or "stone." As someone of proud Puerto Rican descent, I wanted to honor my heritage by incorporating a word from the Taíno language. CIBA symbolizes the bedrock of learning and success. Whether it's preparing for the MCAT, advising, or making schedules, everything we do is grounded in the belief that a strong foundation is essential for future success. We don’t take shortcuts, and we don’t teach what we haven’t mastered. We strive to build our students’ success from the ground up.
